Lesson Offerings at Hargate Hill
Horse riding is a very fulfilling past time and can be enjoyed by everyone. It is a great way to socialise and meet new people whilst enjoying one of the most magnificent animals on the planet. Here at Hargate Hill we have an exceptional array of schooled horses and ponies that are trained to teach riders of all ages from beginner to advanced. Children are welcome to come horse riding with us from the age of 4 years old and above and from there we have no age restriction!! Our weight limit is 15 stone max.
Childrens Riding Lessons
We offer 1/2 hour walkouts on the lead rein for the younger children to build confidence and balance and then progress on to private lessons where they will advance on to working the pony on their own in walk and trot. Once the instructor is satisfied the child is ready (there is no time limit) they will be offered the choice of joining a group lesson, this choice is purely optional and is left to the discretion of yourselves.
Adult Riding Lessons
For adults we offer 1/2 hour private lessons and 1 hour private lessons for the more ambitious! There are several adult group lessons for you to join if you prefer the more social side of this sport. We do take hacks but unfortunately this is only for the advanced rider and any of our new clients would have to be assessed on a 1/2 hour private lesson before being permitted to go out. NB. The 1/2 hour private lesson is not a guarantee you will be permitted on the hack.
Pony days ( School Holidays Only )
Pony days are specifically aimed at Hargate's youth generation. With action packed days out with our ponies, you can be sure that your kids will be talking about our pony days for weeks to come For more information call us today. These are designed for children over the age of 5 yrs and include the following activities, an hour riding lesson, a 1/2 hour walk out, a 1 hour practical session, and a 1 hour theory session, parents are not permitted to stay with the children unless they feel their child would be unhappy without them. Children may bring a packed lunch or purchase food from the cafe.
Hargate Parties ( Saturday & Sunday )
1/2 Hour Walk Out, Plus Food and Use of Classroom, 14 Children maximum and this event must be booked on a minimum of 4 weeks before. We have a simple menu for the day which is a selection of sandwich's, sausage rolls, cocktail sausages, crisps, chocolate treats, jelly and ice cream and a cold drink. We also have a selection of hot food if required.
